Terms of Use

Updated 10 July 2026

These terms explain how you may use this website, and what registering interest or requesting to attend the Bhutan Innovation Festival does — and does not — mean. By using the site, you agree to them.

Definitions

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Druk Holding & Investments (DHI), the organiser of BIF-27. "You" means anyone who accesses or uses this site. "Site" means this website and its subdomains. "Content" means all text, images, video, audio, software and other material made available on the Site. "BIF-27" and "the Festival" mean the Bhutan Innovation Festival, 24–26 March 2027, at Dungkar Dzong, Paro, Bhutan.

Acceptance

By accessing or using this website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. This website is operated for the Bhutan Innovation Festival 2027 (BIF-27) by Druk Holding & Investments (DHI), Thimphu, Bhutan.

Eligibility

This site and the Festival are intended for adults acting in a professional or personal capacity. By using the site or registering interest, you confirm you are at least 18 years old, or using it with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

About this site

This is an informational site. It shares news of the festival — a gathering at Dungkar Dzong, Paro, on 24–26 March 2027 — and lets you register interest or request to attend. Everything here is offered in good faith, for general information. Dates, venue, and other details may still change.

Registering interest and requesting to attend

Registering your interest, or submitting a request to attend, is an expression of interest, and nothing more. Neither is a ticket, a booking, a confirmed place, a contract, or a guarantee of an invitation or admission — this holds regardless of which way of taking part you select. Every submission is reviewed, and invitations are extended at our sole discretion. Submitting a form does not entitle you to attend — we may decline, limit, or withdraw an invitation at any time, without liability. The festival — its dates, venue, programme, speakers, format, and participants — may change, be postponed, or be cancelled, without liability. No fees are collected through either form; where a future paid tier is introduced, separate terms will apply and will be presented to you before any payment is taken.

Photography and recording at the festival

If you attend BIF-27 in person, you may be photographed, filmed, or recorded as part of the gathering. Your name, organisation, and likeness may appear in materials we publish afterwards — on this site, in the festival report, and across our social channels. By attending, you consent to this use, worldwide, without further notice or compensation. If you would rather not appear, please let a member of the team know when you arrive.

Acceptable use

Please use this site lawfully. Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access, disrupt or overload the site, scrape or harvest data, transmit malware, impersonate others, harass anyone, or infringe anyone's rights. We may suspend or restrict access where these terms are breached.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, logos and brand marks (including "Bhutan Innovation Festival" and "BIF-27"), graphics, photography, video, and design — belongs to the organiser, Druk Holding & Investments, or its licensors, and is protected by law. You may view this content for personal, non-commercial use. Copying, reproduction, distribution, or commercial use requires prior written permission. Trademarks and logos may not be used without consent. You may not use automated means — including scraping, crawling, harvesting tools, or bots — to access, copy, or extract content from this site, and you may not use our content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning or AI systems, without our prior written permission.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions about the site or the festival, you agree we may use them freely, without any obligation or compensation to you.

Links to other sites

This site may link to places we do not control — social channels, partners, and registration platforms among them. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Please read it alongside these terms.

Disclaimers

This site and its content are provided as they are, and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free access. We do not warrant that information about the programme, speakers, or dates is complete, accurate, or current. Any reliance on it is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the organiser and Druk Holding & Investments are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site, or your reliance on its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum the law allows.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organiser and Druk Holding & Investments from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure, delay, cancellation, or postponement caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including natural disasters, pandemic or epidemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, power or utility failure, or the failure of a venue, supplier, or contractor.

Export control and sanctions

You confirm that you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive trade sanctions, and that you are not on any restricted-party list, in each case under the laws applicable to us. We may decline or withdraw an invitation where we reasonably believe this is not the case.

Dispute resolution

If a dispute arises, please write to info@bif.bt first — we would rather resolve it directly than through a formal process. If it cannot be resolved this way, it will be settled under "Governing law" below.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thimphu, Bhutan.

Miscellaneous

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us on this subject. We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms; you may not, without our consent. Nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency between you and us. These terms are drafted in English; any translation is for convenience only, and the English version governs.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and continued use of the site means you accept them. We will always show a "last updated" date. It is worth a glance now and then.
